    Me photographing a damselfly

Welcome to my Photography Blog.  I live in Daventry, Northamptonshire and have been taking photos for a little over two years.  I am interested in all types of photography, maybe I just haven’t found my ‘thing’ yet, with the overriding theme of not travelling far in order to take the pictures.  (The exception to this is when I happen to be somewhere else for another reason.)  You will therefore find that most of the pictures are taken around Daventry and District.

Although I take some photos that I am proud of, they are far outweighed by the ones that are deleted, but I hope to improve on this and will share any successes I have along the way.

Why do I have this blog?  I am hoping to highlight the fantastic things that you can see all around without having to travel to some far off places.  Daventry is a great place to live, even without dramatic coastlines and fantastic architecture, as, I am sure, are most towns, we just need to appreciate what is already there for us.  This is at the core of what makes me Clare, as, at heart, I am a bit of a treehugger, and find it difficult to impose on the planet any more than necessary merely in the pursuit of a photograph.

My current camera gear consist of a Canon EOS 400D (chosen because, like me, it is quite small), a wide angle, telephoto and macro lens, and a Canon Ixus that I take everywhere with me and which has given me some of my best shots.

I joined Badby Photography Club in 2008 which is lots of fun and was definitely a good idea.

I hope you enjoy my photos, please feel free to comment as all constructive criticism is welcome.
